Around a dozen former Yale classmates of scandal-hit Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh have said they remember the now federal jurist as a heavy drinker, disputing his claim that he never drank to the point of blacking out. Classmates spoke to both The New York Times and The Washington Post, with some saying they were annoyed by Kavanaugh's “choir boy” act during his interview with Fox News. “Brett was a sloppy drunk, and I know because I drank with him. I watched him drink more than a lot of people. He’d end up slurring his words, stumbling,” said Liz Swisher, who described herself as a friend of Kavanaugh’s in college. Lynne Brookes said her memory of Kavanaugh is very different to how he described himself on Fox News this week, saying: “He’s trying to paint himself as some kind of choir boy.” The Times said it spoke to nearly a dozen people who knew Kavanaugh at college who recalled that he was a heavy drinker.
