Kellyanne Conway is never backward in coming forward and she was quick to dismiss suggestions that she was putting the knife into her boss’s pick as running mate, J.D. Vance, lately of “childless cat ladies” fame. The Bulwark claimed that more than a dozen Trump insiders suggested Conway was leaking doubts to the media about his suitability as the GOP running mate in the 2024 presidential election. Conway denied the claims and, characteristically, went on the offensive, calling her unnamed accusers “ankle biters” and “gossip girls” who were jealous of her close relationship with Donald Trump. She says she backed Marco Rubio as a No. 2 but knows Trump won’t fire Vance. “He’s a loyal guy. He sticks with things,” she told The Bulwark, which reported a Trump confidant as saying: “He’s pissed off about it. Her knows it’s her.” But the family still thinks very highly of her. And if anyone else wants to talk about her badmouthing Vance, you can be sure she’ll find a new name for them.
