Trumpworld continued its victory lap Monday over the conclusions of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe by demanding Democratic resignations.
On Fox & Friends, White House adviser Kellyanne Conway called out Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and declared the House Intelligence Chairman “ought to resign” after “peddling lies” about Russian collusion with the Trump campaign during the 2016 election and raged about what she described as 22 months of unwarranted political abuse.
“He ought to resign today,” Conway said during an interview that seemed to celebrate Mueller’s findings detailed in a Sunday summary issued by Attorney General William Barr. “He has been on every TV show 50 times a day for practically the last two years promising Americans that the president would be impeached or indicted.”

In four-page summary letter to congressional leaders, newly appointed Attorney General Barr concluded that Mueller’s two-year investigation “did not find that the Trump campaign, or anyone associated with it, conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in these efforts, despite multiple offers from Russian-affiliated individuals to assist.”
Conway highlighted that detail to Trump’s favorite morning show, adding that Democrats and the media “owe America an apology” trying to “peddle” the collusion narrative—one she believes was escalated by Schiff.
“You [were] in fact running around and jutting your jaw out and say, ‘I’m worried about the effect on the institutions,’ you were disparaging the institutions, you were demeaning and degrading our great democracy and the presidency of the United States,” she said, seemingly speaking directly to the Democratic lawmaker.
She continued: “Adam Schiff should resign. He has no right as someone who’s been peddling a lie day after day after day, unchallenged... and not under oath. Somebody should have put him under oath and said, ‘You have evidence? Where is it?’”
The former 2016 Trump campaign manager, however, did not mention in her 14-minute interview that Barr’s assessment said that Mueller’s investigation was inconclusive on whether President Trump obstructed justice and the report did not exonerate him.
On Sunday Schiff, in an interview on ABC’s This Week following Barr’s report, stuck to his previous claims of collusion, pointing out that Mueller’s inability to prove collusion beyond reasonable doubt does not mean collusion didn’t happen.
“There’s a difference between compelling evidence of collusion, and whether the special counsel concludes that he can prove beyond a reasonable doubt the criminal charge of conspiracy,” Schiff said. “I leave that decision to Bob Mueller, and I have full confidence in him.”
Like many of his Democratic colleagues, he called for a release of Mueller’s report for transparency and the truth.
“You have Adam Schiff, talk about an oxymoron, this man heads the Intelligence Committee in the House,” Conway sneered on Monday.
