The granddaughter of Robert F. Kennedy died of an overdose on Thursday afternoon inside the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, family members say. According to The New York Times, Saoirse Kennedy Hill, 22, was found at the home of her 91-year-old grandmother, Ethel Kennedy. Hyannis News reported that an emergency responder in a radio call said the woman was in cardiac arrest. She was then taken to Cape Cod Hospital and pronounced dead. Tara Miltimore of the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office said the matter remained “under investigation” by police. Hill was enrolled in Boston College, where she was a communications major and vice president of the College Democrats. She was the only child of Courtney Kennedy Hill and Paul Hill, a Northern Irish man who was wrongfully convicted of the IRA’s Guildford pub bombing in 1974.
