“Sadly the man I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now,” his son wrote in an open letter to the singer.
The country star mumbled through his performance Monday night which sparked concern from viewers on social media.
The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer’s performance in honor of Trump was incoherent and erratic—especially when the lights were cut off and he refused to leave the stage.
The president-elect previously jabbed Cyrus over his “liberal daughter,” Miley Cyrus.
Kamala Harris’ campaign immediately trolled her political opponent’s slip-up, with others joining in on social media.
“This has been absolutely the most crazy insane scam I have ever heard of,” Cyrus said in a statement. “Love is blind, that’s for sure.”
The country music legend wed Australian singer Firerose in October of last year.
