Griner said in a statement that âthe last two years have been the most harrowing, transformative and illuminating period of my life.â
âThe Mercury fully support Brittney and we will continue to work together on a timeline for her return,â the team said in a statement.
The WNBA called the incident âinappropriate and unfortunate.â
