The now-independent Michigan congressman was infuriated by Trump’s “total authority” comments.
“Nobody knows what Amash is doing,” said one GOP strategist.
"I believe that I have to use my skills, my public influence where it serves the country best," Amash said on Sunday.
It took guts for the Michigan congressman to announce he’s leaving Trump’s GOP. But now he has to take the next logical step.
