Kim Davis, the Kentucky county clerk who was once jailed for not issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples because she claimed the practice violated her conscience, is now fighting against gay marriage in Romania. “We invite Kim Davis to share with us her fight for freedom, her strong faith and her experience in prison, which was the price she paid for standing up for her faith,” said Mihai Gheorghiu, the president of the Coalition for Family. Same-sex marriage is not legal in Romania, and activists are working to permanently ban it. Davis traveled there for the far-right Liberty Counsel, which represented her when she was jailed for refusing to grant marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
