North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited China and met with President Xi Jinping, Chinese media reported. Yonhap reported that Kim’s wife Ri Sol Ju accompanied him. Yonhap also reported that Xi invited Kim for the summit, which lasted from Sunday to Wednesday. Since taking office in 2011, Kim had not made a foreign trip. The North Korean leader is expected to soon meet face-to-face with President Donald Trump for nuclear negotiations. White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement that the Chinese government briefed the U.S. and sent a personal message from Xi to President Donald Trump.
