We all knew it was bound 2 happen, it was just a matter of when and how. Kanye West popped the question to girlfriend and baby mama Kim Kardashian on the night of her 33rd birthday. West rented out the entire baseball stadium AT&T Park in San Francisco and hired a 50-piece orchestra to play Lana Del Rey's "Young and Beautiful" as the words "PLEEEASE MARRY MEE" appeared on the scoreboard. Kardashian said yes to West and the 15-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring from Boucheron in Paris.

A proposal that can literally only happen once every thousand years: Michael Douglas proposed to Catherine Zeta Jones on New Years Eve 1999 at a party in Aspen, Colorado. After ringing in the new millennium, Douglas presented Jones with a 10-carat marquise-cut diamond ring.

After dating for only two months, Tom Cruise proposed to Katie Holmes on the top of the Eiffel Tower after a romantic dinner at the Tower's luxe restuarant, Le Jules Verne. He offered up a five-carat engagement ring and TomKat was officially born.

How do you impress a Victoria's Secret model who has seen more rose petals and candlelight in one photoshoot than what most people see in a lifetime? (Not to mention, she once wore a bra made of diamonds.) A proposal to Heidi Klum calls for extreme measures, so when Seal rented a helicopter to fly them over the Canadian Rockies to a mountain top igloo on a glacier he wasn't being entirely over-the-top. He capped off the once-in-a-lifetime experience with a 10-carat cushion-cut engagement ring.

David Arquette proposed to Courtney Cox on the beach in Florida, which sounds pretty hum-drum as far as proposals go, except that he had fireworks timed to go off at the exact moment he popped the question, and all of their friends and family waiting in the wings to applaud when she said yes. Cox and Arquette hadn't planned the proposal event, so Arquette was very relieved when she said yes and accepted the stacked engagement ring with "A deal's a deal" engraved on it.

Rancic took DePandi on a nighttime helicopter tour of Chicago, his home town, with the promise of seeing the Christmas lights on Michigan Avenue. Midway through the flight, Rancic got down on one knee and proposed with a four-carat diamond. DePandi said yes, but didn't get a good look at the cushion-cut Graff ring until the next morning because between the nighttime tour and the candle-lit dinner that followed, it was too dark.

Pink has always gone against the grain, and her wedding proposal was no expection. Taking things into her own hands, Pink proposed to Hart while he was in the third lap of the Pro 250 finals motocross race in Mammoth, California. Pink held up a cardboard sign with "Will You Marry Me?" written in black marker. When Hart failed to respond, Pink produced another sign, this time with "I'm Serious" added at the bottom. Hart pulled out of the race and said yes.

If going on live TV wasn't enough pressure, ex-New York Giant Jason Sehorn decided to kick it up a notch when he proposed to his model-turned-actress girlfriend Angie Harmon on The Tonight Show in 1998. Harmon had no idea Sehorn was going to pop the question on national television and after she said yes, that nights musical guest, which happened to be Elton John, sang for the couple.

Henry Hager had two big obstacles in front of him before he could propose to Jenna Bush in 2007. First, he had to get permission from Bush's father and then President, George W. Bush... and then he had to climb a mountain. Luckily, President Bush gave Hager his blessing and while the couple were on a vacation soon after, Hager proposed at the top of Cadillac Mountain in Maine's Acadia National Park with his grandmother's sapphire and diamond ring.

Asking someone to marry you is tough. Asking Mariah Carey to marry you is, well, tougher. So imagine the nerves when Nick Cannon asked Mariah Carey to be his wife not once but twice within 24 hours. The first proposal happened on a New York City rooftop where Cannon got down on one knee and presented Carey with a candy ring pop - with a real diamond ring inside. Carey safely recused the 17-carat emerald-cut diamond ring from the lollypop, and the next day, just in case the first proposal wasn't romantic enough, Cannon proposed again while the couple were on a helicopter tour of the city, right over the Empire State Building.
