Fresh off her No. 1 New York Times bestselling memoir Melania, future, and former, first lady Melania Trump is moving on to her next vanity project with “On the Move,” a “exclusive collection” of 16 digital images. “I am pleased to share my journey—through photographs—with fans and collectors,” her office said in a statement released Tuesday. The project is being promoted as a compilation of snapshots of the first lady in “various settings” that “offer a poignant glimpse into [Melania Trump’s] fast-moving life.” President-elect Donald Trump will presumably be featured along for the ride, but the project seems to be separate from her official duties as first lady as it is being marked and sold through her personal website. Like her husband, Mrs. Trump has attached her name to a number of collector’s items since she first left the White House in 2021, including, jewelry, watercolor art and non-fungible tokens.

High School History Teacher Yanked After Rant Comparing Trump to Hitler

A California history teacher has been placed on leave after he launched an expletive-laden tirade against Donald Trump in front of his students the day after the election. The unnamed Valley View High School teacher called Trump a “rapist draft-dodging coward” and compared him to Adolf Hitler. The man ranted that Black and Latino voters snubbed Kamala Harris because she has “a vagina and a uterus” and continued: “This sh-- is not a f------ game. Can you end up with no human rights? Yes. Will it happen to you? Most likely not. Which is a good thing, but has Donald Trump quoted Hitler? Yes. Does he embody some of Hitler’s ideas? Yes.” A spokesperson for the Moreno Valley Unified School District said the teacher had been placed on administrative leave pending a review of the incident. However, a Change.org petition has more than 1,200 signatures in favor of reinstating the teacher, and students at the school say they are planning a walkout if he isn’t allowed to return to class.

‘X-Files’ Stars Admit to ‘Tension’ That Led to Their ‘Not Speaking’
‘DYSFUNCTIONAL’

FOX

The X Files stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson had a candid conversation on Duchovny‘s Fail Better podcast in which they acknowledged they wouldn’t “speak to each other for weeks at a time” while filming the original cult favorite show. “There was a lot of tension, which didn’t matter, apparently, for the work, because we’re both f---ing crazy, I guess,” Duchovny said. Anderson agreed, “It’s crazy that we were able to present on camera the various feelings and emotions and attraction and all that kind of stuff, but then not speak to each other for weeks at a time.” Ultimately Duchovny claimed responsibility for his “failure of companionship” and for creating several “dysfunctional” moments in their relationship over the years. They also cleared the air about Anderson’s fight for pay equity for the first three years of the show. “Selfishly, back then, I thought I was like being attacked,” Duchovny said, as Anderson spoke up about receiving less pay than him. Anderson replied, “Oh really, I didn’t know that. I’m sorry. That’s interesting that I wasn’t paying attention to that side of it.”

Wheel of Fortune contestant Will Jordan from Connecticut had a memorable blank moment on Monday night’s episode, answering a fairly filled-in puzzle that appeared as “___E _OURSE_F A ROUN_ OF A___AUSE,” with “Treat yourself a round of sausage.” The now viral moment has been widely shared on social media, as users call it “painful,” but appreciate the former service member and police officer’s sense of humor about the gaffe. “I’m sure I’m gonna have sausages in my locker and police car when I get back, so we’ll try to have some fun with it,” Jordan told Maggie Sajack, the show’s social media correspondent (and daughter of retired host Pat Sajak) in a post-game clip. “If your dad, in retirement, is watching the show, maybe cracks a beer and has a laugh, it’ll be worth it,” Jordan also told Sajak, as he opined the puzzles are much harder to solve on national television “when the lights are on and the stars” Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White are staring at you, than they are at home. Said one social media user, “Yup the lights were definitely on, and nobody was home.”

A group of “self-identified Nazis” waving swastika flags showed up outside a Michigan community theater‘s performance of The Diary of Anne Frank on Saturday, according to locals. The performance was held at an American Legion building in Livingston County. Bobby Brite, the Legion post‘s past commander, captured video of the masked hooligans holding flags emblazoned with Nazi symbols outside of the venue. “This is the kind of crap you have to deal with,” said Brite, who encouraged people to “just drive on by, ignore ‘em.” Inside, the Fowlerville Community Theatre performed the famed adaptation of a young Jewish girl’s record of life in hiding in the Nazi-occupied Netherlands during World War II. Roughly 10 people were in the group, seemingly in their 20s, Brite said. “This production centers on real people who lost their lives in the Holocaust, we have endeavored to tell their story with as much realism as possible,” said the community theatre, in a statement posted to Facebook. “On Saturday evening, things became more real than we expected.” Legion staff moved the demonstrators off their property and the audience was notified of their presence at intermission, but the show went on.

This Is How Close Putin Came to Launching Nuclear Weapons

Russian President Vladimir Putin was feared to be so close to using nuclear weapons in Ukraine that the famously short-serving British prime minister, Liz Truss, spent the last of her 50 days in office studying weather maps and preparing for cases of radiation poisoning, according to a new book about Truss entitled Out of the Blue. The Sun reports that Truss spent “numerous hours studying satellite weather data and wind directions” over fears the “wrong weather patterns” could have a “direct fallout effect on Britain.” The concerns were triggered by U.S. intelligence analysis that there was a 50 per cent chance Putin could detonate a nuclear device. In October 2022, Joe Biden warned Russia could use nuclear weapons if “things continue down the path they are going.”

South Korean Leader Finessing His Golf Game to Prep for Trump Meetings

Amid mounting concerns over what a second Trump presidency holds in store for the fight against climate change, it seems tee time with foreign leaders might well promise to be the only kind of “green” diplomacy the Republican president-elect has any interest in. Perhaps with that in mind, Reuters reports South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol is polishing up his golf game to prepare for potential future meetings with the incoming U.S. leader, after not picking up a putt in more than eight years. If nothing else it’ll provide the South Korean president with a fair spread of opportunities to bend Trump’s ear, given the president-elect was estimated to have played more than 260 rounds of golf, or one round every 5.6 days, during his first term.

Is Queen Camilla not entertained? Buckingham Palace has said today that the queen, who is recovering from what sources described as “a nasty bug,” is not going to sit through a special screening of the new Gladiator film, Ridley Scott‘s remake of his 2000 epic, which has received decidedly mixed reviews (though the Daily Beast loved it). Palace sources said Camilla, who missed key veterans’ day engagements this weekend, would return to public duties this week, but that there would be “some small adjustments” including a shortening of engagements to “protect and prioritize her continued recovery.” They added she will not attend the Gladiator II London premiere, but that King Charles would do so as planned. The palace has emphasized there is no cause for concern around Camilla’s wider health.

Harriet Tubman Finally Given the Rank of General for Leading Union Troops
CIVIL WAR HERO

More than 160 years after Harriet Tubman led Union troops on a raid on Combahee Ferry in South Carolina, freeing more than 700 enslaved people, the legendary abolitionist was posthumously made a one-star brigadier general in the Maryland National Guard, NPR reported. “Today we celebrate one of the greatest authors of the American story,” Maryland Gov. Wes Moore said Monday during a Veterans Day ceremony. Tubman was born into slavery in Maryland but escaped to Philadelphia in 1849, when she was about 27. She returned to Maryland soon after to rescue her family, walking 142 miles each way in the dark and using only the stars and waterways to guide her. When the Civil War broke out, she joined the Union Army as a nurse, but thanks to her clandestine trips to the South, she was quickly dispatched as a spy and a scout. On Monday, dozens of veterans and generals gathered at Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park in Maryland for the ceremony presenting the official order for her new rank.

Indonesia’s Leader Shares Video of His Fawning Congratulatory Call to Trump
FINDING FAVOR

Indonesian leader Prabowo Subianto congratulated Donald Trump.
Fairfax Media/Getty Images

Indonesia’s new President Prabowo Subianto is covering all his bases during his trip to the United States. He posted online a nearly three-minute congratulatory phone call to Donald Trump for his 2024 presidential election triumph the day before he was due to meet President Joe Biden at the White House on Tuesday. The former special forces soldier called Trump “sir” a bunch of times and said he was looking forward to “call personally” on the president-elect to pat him on the back. Trump was equally effusive, telling Prabowo he was doing a “great job” and saying: “Your English is so good.” The Indonesian leader replied: “All my training is American, sir,” referring to his officer training in the U.S. in the 1980s. He was later banned for a period from the U.S. over alleged human rights violations. Prabowo’s visit is to commemorate the 75th anniversary of U.S.-Indonesian relations and explore new ways of cooperating in the future. Clearly, Prabowo is already looking over Biden’s shoulder.
