Scientists in Australia are celebrating a breakthrough in their quest to develop a vaccine against chlamydia in wild koalas. The sexually transmitted disease has contributed to the plummeting number of wild koalas, as its effects include blindness, infertility, and death. The vaccine was developed by microbiologists from the University of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
