After an investigation into his alleged sexual misconduct, the CBS board denied ex-head of the network Les Moonves his $120 million severance package. “We have determined that there are grounds to terminate for cause, including his willful and material misfeasance, violation of Company policies and breach of his employment contract, as well as his willful failure to cooperate fully with the Company’s investigation,” the board said in a statement Monday. “Mr. Moonves will not receive any severance payment from the Company.” In a statement, Moonves' lawyer maintained that his client did no wrongdoing. “Consistent with the pattern of leaks that have permeated this 'process,' the press was informed of these baseless conclusions before Mr. Moonves, further damaging his name, reputation, career and legacy,” Andrew Levander said. “Mr. Moonves vehemently denies any nonconsensual sexual relations and cooperated extensively and fully with investigators.” Moonves was ousted from his role in September after reports accused him of sexual misconduct in the workplace. Since then, reports from The New York Times alleged that Moonves destroyed evidence and attempted to silence a potential accuser with acting roles.
