Lil Jon Confirms Trump Used ‘Uncle Tom’ Slur

Lil Jon has commented on a Daily Beast article revealing that Donald Trump repeatedly used a racial slur to refer to him during filming of Celebrity Apprentice. In response to staffers' claims that Trump repeatedly called him an Uncle Tom during filming for the 13th season of the show, Lil Jon said late Friday, “I can’t say if he knew what he was actually saying or not, but he did stop using that term once we explained it’s [sic] offensiveness.” “I also want to be clear that I don’t agree with many of the statements Mr. Trump has said during his current run for President,” the rapper wrote on Twitter. Three staffers of Celebrity Apprentice said Trump’s use of the term triggered a scandal on set, with producers frantically trying to get Trump to stop using the offensive label. Trump reportedly began using it after he saw Lil Jon dressed up in an Uncle Sam costume while completing a task. Staffers said Trump seemed oblivious to the racially-charged history of the word.
