A German man died Friday when a piece of live ammunition from World War II exploded in his hand. The 59-year-old had retrieved the round the day before from Lake Ossiach and left it on the shore, according to Austrian police. Police have cordoned off the area where the man died for explosives experts to investigate the possibility of further danger. Both Nazi forces and the British military dumped tons of supplies, weapons, explosives and ammunition into the lake during WWII.
