Lizzo Funneling $1M to Planned Parenthood, Abortion Funds

Hours after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Lizzo pledged $500,000 in proceeds from her tour to Planned Parenthood and abortion funds—and said Live Nation had agreed to match the donation. Members of band Rage Against the Machine followed suit, pledging $475,000 in ticket sales to abortion rights organizations in Wisconsin and Illinois. “The most important thing is action & loud voices,” Lizzo wrote on Twitter, noting that reproductive rights organizations “will need funding to continue offering services to people who are most harmed by this ban.”
