Lupita Nyong’o for Lancome: With her grace—and flawless red-carpet style—Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o has been named the new face of Lancôme. "Both talented and committed, true to her African beauty, and showing a great curiosity and open-mindedness in her career choices, Lupita is by essence the Lancôme woman," stated Françoise Lehmann, general manager of Lancôme International. The actress, who has struggled with her own appearance, felt “truly honored” to be a part of the campaign. “I am particularly proud,” she stated, “to represent its unique vision for women and the idea that beauty should not be dictated, but should instead be an expression of a woman’s freedom to be herself.” [Telegraph]

Marc by Marc Jacobs’s Social Media Casting Call: Moving away from the traditional “go-see” casting call, Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley, who took over Marc Jacobs's diffusion line last May, are trying a more modern approach to finding a new face for their next campaign. Announced on Thursday, the #CastMeMarc campaign will give social media users all over the world the chance to submit their selfies in hopes of being picked to join the ranks of the Marc by Marc Jacobs alumni like Winona Ryder, Victoria Beckham, and Miley Cyrus. Nicola Formichetti Debuts First Diesel Collection: Getting back to the brand’s Italian roots, Nicola Formichetti, who was previously creative director of Mugler, debuted his first collection in Venice since being named artistic director of Diesel over a year ago. The collection, which is “pure Diesel, but better,” featured lots of denim, leather, and military-inspired looks. The show included films of ballet dancers, a performance by rapper Brooke Candy, and a finale tribute to Pussy Riot. [Elle]
