Lyft is now investigating whether its employees have abused access to customer data, a spokeswoman confirmed Thursday to The Information. A “current or former Lyft employee” posted on Blind, an app that allows employees to air grievances anonymously. The possible ex-employee claimed that they have “seen people look their exes up” and “check to see if their significant other actually went where they said, and stalk attractive people they’ve met.” The same post also said that they have heard people brag about collecting information on Mark Zuckerberg and famous actresses. “The abuse I’ve seen needs to be curbed and access restricted,” the post said. Lyft confirmed to The Information that engineers can look up customer data, like pickups and drop-offs, and stated that it has not received any internal complaints about the matter.
