A week after Mac Miller was found dead in his home from an apparent drug overdose, Ariana Grande has broken her silence, posting a touching tribute on her Instagram Friday. Miller is seen in the post laughing and enjoying a dinner with his then-girlfriend. Grande wrote, “i really can’t wrap my head around it. we talked about this. so many times. i’m so mad, i’m so sad i don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. i’m so sorry i couldn’t fix or take your pain away. i really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. i hope you’re okay now. rest.” Following the rapper’s death, Grande’s Instagram was flooded with hateful comments blaming her for his tragic death. Commenting on her account was quickly disabled. Miller’s close friend, Shane Powers, revealed earlier this week that Grande was an incredible force in helping Miller stay sober, stating on his podcast, “There could not have been anybody more supportive of him being sober than Ariana. I saw that. I was around it.”
