Madonna, joining the many celebrities at Women's Marches across the country and the world on Saturday, spoke to the massive crowd in Washington, D.C., asking "Are you ready to shake up the world?" She continued: "Welcome to the revolution, to the rebellion, to our refusal as women to accept this new age of tyranny." And to "detractors" who "insist that this march will never add up to anything," Madonna had two words: "Fuck you." She repeated that message for emphasis before CNN cut her off. Earlier in the week, Madonna gave an interview in which she described how "frightened" she was about the future and said she believes Donald Trump was elected president "for a reason, to show us how lazy and unified and lackadaisical and taking for granted we’ve become of our freedom and the rights that we have as Americans."
