Authorities in Malaysia have arrested a hacker accused of stealing U.S. military data and giving it to ISIS, the Justice Department said in a statement Thursday. Ardit Ferizi, a citizen of Kosovo, was detained in Malaysia on a provisional U.S. arrest warrant alleging he committed computer hacking and identity theft and provided material support to ISIS. Ferizi reportedly hacked into the computer system of a company in the U.S. and stole personal information of more than 1,000 U.S. service members and federal employees, according to the criminal complaint. U.S. Assistant Attorney General John Carlin called Ferizi’s case, which combines cybercrime and terror charges, “a first of its kind.”
