A 25-year-old man is reportedly in critical condition after he was attacked inside the tiger exhibit at the Bronx Zoo Friday afternoon. After securing the tiger, EMTs rushed the young man to Jacobi Medical Center where his left foot was quickly amputated. Police report the man also suffered puncture wounds, and a broken ankle and arm. According to the NYPD, the man appears to have jumped over the Wild Asia Monorail and into the tiger exhibit. The news site DNAinfo is reporting the man may have jumped out of the car he was riding in and into the den in a suicide attempt. Asked whether or not the man appeared to be emotionally disturbed, a police official responded, “It certainly appears that way.”
