The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has launched an investigation into outgoing New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman after several women accused him Monday of physical and emotional abuse. “Our office has opened an investigation into the recently reported allegations concerning Mr. Schneiderman,” a spokesman for District Attorney Cy Vance Jr. told the New York Post. The news came hours after Schneiderman announced his resignation following an explosive New Yorker report in which four women accused him of aggressive, threatening behavior and “nonconsensual physical violence.” Schneiderman, who took legal action against disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein and vowed to fight for victims of sexual misconduct, has denied the allegations.
