Shock rocker Marilyn Manson spoke out after learning he will not face sexual assault charges. Authorities concluded a nearly four-year-long investigation by saying they did not have enough evidence to proceed. After the decision, Manson said, “Obviously, my art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality,” reported the Daily Mail. The Los Angeles district attorney, Nathan Hochman, said they would not pursue charges against the controversial 56-year-old musician, whose real name is Brian Warner, the Associated Press reported. “We recognize and applaud the courage and resilience of the women who came forward to make reports and share their experiences, and we thank them for their cooperation and patience with the investigation,” Hochman said. The L.A. sheriff’s office had announced in 2021 that they were investigating incidents that occurred in Manson’s home between 2009 and 2011. Although the identities of the women who brought allegations against Manson were not revealed by authorities, Game of Thrones star Esmé Bianco stepped forward to confirm she was involved. She said in Oct. 2024 that she had described to police how Manson “had raped and abused me over the course of our relationship.” The rocker’s former fiancée, actress Evan Rachel Wood, also called him an abuser in 2021, after the investigation was made public, writing on Instagram: “He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years.” Manson has denied all the claims.
