Performance artist Marina Abramovic, who starred with Jay Z in a music video for his song “Picasso Baby” in 2013, says the rapper “completely used” her and her art. Abramovic said she wasn’t surprised when Jay Z approached her for the collaboration; she set up an entire PowerPoint presentation on her goals for the shoot. “Then he just completely used me. And that wasn’t fair,” she told Spike magazine. “This is very different from Lady Gaga, for example, who has done great work for me. Just by having 45 million followers, she brought all these young kids into my public.” She called the experience “a one-way transaction. I will never do it again, that I can say. Never,” she said.
