Former middleweight boxing champ “Marvelous” Marvin Hagler died suddenly at his home in New Hampshire, his wife announced on Facebook. He was 66. In a 67-fight pro career, Hagler won 52 by knockout and lost only three. He reigned as champion from 1980 to 1987, when Sugar Ray Leonard defeated him in a split decision that remains controversial three decades later. Hagler, who had his first name legally changed to Marvelous so announcers would be forced to use it, launched an acting career in Italy after retiring from boxing.
