Mary-Kate Olsen and her (much older) boyfriend Olivier Sarkozy made a splash when the former child star-turned-fashion designer was seen wearing an oversized engagement ring on her left hand. From Kim Kardashian’s 15-carat diamond (that was the size of her daughter's hand) to Jennifer Lopez’s famous pink bauble, see more stars’ engagement rings that made it easier to say yes.

The Olsen twin is all grown up and engaged to French banker Olivier Sarkozy—brother of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy—who is 17 years her senior. After dating for almost two years, Sarkozy reportedly proposed to the young fashion designer with a vintage Cartier ring from 1953 purchased at auction at Sotheby's. The bauble features a 4-carat European-cut diamond surrounded by 16 sapphires and single-cut diamonds. The ring was estimated to sell for between $40,000 and $60,000, but ended up earning $81,250.

Girls star Allison Williams scored a nice sparkly number in late February when her boyfriend of three years, College Humor founder Ricky Van Veen popped the big question. The ring is reportedly 2.5 - 3 carats with a large cushion or radiant cut diamond surrounded by baguette side stones. “I was completely surprised,” Williams said of the proposal on Late Night with Seth Meyers. “And the funny thing about that is I consider myself someone who is impossible to surprise. And yet I’m constantly surprised by things."

Jackie and Kelso are getting hitched! Although the two have been dating since 2012, their relationship status has always been kept private and quiet. In late February, Kunis was spotted in West Hollywood shopping with her mother, rocking a large, 5-carat diamond. The proposal was decribed to Us Weekly by a source as "very sincere and simple," adding that the couple is "eager to exchange their vows."

"She said YES!!!" was the caption that accompanied Dwayne Wade's Instagram photo on December 21, showing off his new fiance Gabrielle Union's ginormous rock. The 8.5 carat ring, which is worth almost $1 million, features a cushion-cut diamond and was created by Jason Arasheben, CEO of Jason of Beverly Hills. Union admits she was caught off-guard when the proposal actually happened. Wade's sons, Zaire and Zion, were in on the idea, asking Union if they could show her a presentation they had made. As they held up signs that read, "Will you marry us?" Union turned around to find Wade on on his knee.

Ciara received the best birthday present of all: a proposal from her boyfriend Future with a 150-carat ring. The rapper was involved in the entire design process—which took two months—flying across the country to meet with a variety of consultants from celebrity jeweler Avianne & Co. The 8-carat center stone is surrounded by two 2.5-carat diamonds and a mix of emerald-cut diamonds along the body of the ring. Ciara's 28th birthday is one she won't soon forget!

Hopefully, the third time's a charm for Kim Kardashian! Although the ring he gave her was slightly smaller than the 20.5 carat diamond she received from her second husband, Kris Humphries, Kanye West proposed to Kardashian on her 30th birthday last October. With a big proposal comes a big ring, and the 15-carat bauble did not disappoint. West was very particular about the ring's design, working closely with jewelry designer Lorraine Shwartz to create the perfect cushion-cut, D flaweless diamond. The rapper event went the extra mile, adding a northwest compass design to the ring in honor of their daughter. "[Kanye's] so creative and so passionate about everything in life. He went to four jewelers to find the right design,” Kardashion said on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.

Last October, Glee actress Naya Rivera showed-off her 4-carat engagement ring from fiance, rapper Big Sean, for the first time. The bauble features a cushion-cut diamond surrounded by an accentuating diamond halo. Although the two had only been dating for about five months at the time of the proposal, Big Sean is all about fashion and style, so he wasn't afraid to go big and bold with Rivera's engagement ring.

Adam Levine never thought he would get married...until he met Victoria's Secret model Behati Prinsloo. The proposal, which happened in July 2013, was "very old school" according to Prinsloo. The ring, which features an oval-shaped diamond on a silver band, is vintage from the 1930s.

Actress Olivia Wilde's engagement ring from funny-man Jason Sudeikis is gorgeous, and much different than the stereotypical big diamond seen in many Hollywood engagements. The ring features a round diamond in the center surrounded by an emerald halo and a thin, yellow gold band. Although Sudeikis proposed to Wilde in the first week of January 2013, she knew he was "The One" long before he put a ring on it.

"It's a yellow canary diamond with diamonds around it," wrote Kelly Clarkson of her new jewelry. The American Idol crooner got engaged to long-time beau Brandon Blackstock on December 14th, 2012, and has the bling to prove it. Blackstock is the son of Clarkson's manager Narvel Blackstock, and the stepson of Reba McEntire. Her fiancé has two children from a previous marriage, but we can't imagine the country-influenced children this musically inclined pair might produce. On The Ellen Show, Clarkson said of her fiancé: "Honestly, I've never been the girl to plan a wedding," she added. "We will totally, probably elope." Or perhaps they want to cut wedding costs after the dollars dropped for that ring. Wowza!

Nothing like an estimated eight carats to help start a happy life. Jennifer Aniston was photographed in October 2012 in Santa Fe with fiancé Justin Theroux—but distracting from the lover’s embrace was Aniston’s enormous engagement ring, believed to be eight carats. The sight of the emerald-cut diamond immediately set off speculation about their upcoming nuptials, which some sources told Us Weekly will be a destination wedding. Theroux proposed on August 10 after about a year of dating. Until now, Aniston has been seen wearing a simple gold band rather than a traditional engagement ring.

Apparently there's one Gossip Girl  who knows how to keep a secret. Blake Lively wed fellow actor Ryan Reynolds in September 2012 at a secret ceremony in South Carolina, complete with a performance from Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine, and a giant light pink oval diamond that now sits on the star's ring finger and screams "I'm taken." Reynolds had a heavy hand in designing the one-of-a-kind creation, custom set in rose gold and pave diamonds for his second wife.

Hollywood's darlings have confirmed they're finally tying the knot, after Angelina Jolie was spotted with a giant diamond engagement ring in April 2012 at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The ring is the result of Brad Pitt's yearlong collaboration with jewelry designer Robert Procop, who says Pitt oversaw all aspects of the design's evolution. Procop also worked with Jolie to design jewelry to benefit the Education Partnership for Children in Conflict.

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi's baby daddy Jionni LaValle put a $55,000 ring on it in 2012. The beau of the Jersey Shore star designed the 5-carat ring with New Jersey-based jeweler, Ben Bekdas, owner of B&B Jewelers. The ring features a 3.02 princess-cut diamond atop a custom-made band with 2 carats of surrounding diamonds. After a year of being engaged, the duo are finally in the midst of planning a 'Great Gatsby'-themed wedding.

Everybody’s favorite music wild child, Britney Spears, once sang “I’m addicted to you, don’t you know that you’re toxic,” but she took a more low-key approach to her second failed relationship with her manager, Jason Trawick. Trawick proposed to Spears in 2011 at his 40th birthday dinner in Los Angeles. Spears tweeted that she “can’t wait to show” everyone her ring, and she revealed the 3.5-carat diamond ring at Trawick’s birthday party in Las Vegas. Jeweler Neil Lane, the designer, said the ring is a white diamond in a handmade platinum setting that “looks like a mini crown” with 90 small round diamonds on the eternity band. “Jason didn’t want some over-the-top stone,” Lane said. Fitting, perhaps, of how much more low-key this relationship was than her first marriage with ex-husband Kevin Federline, who proposed with a five-carat diamond ring in 2004.

Prince William gave Kate Middleton the same 18-carat sapphire surrounded by diamonds that his father had given Diana Spencer. Back in 1981, the ring cost $60,000, and many criticized Diana for selecting a ring that anyone could buy rather than having one made for her. William said he wanted to give his mother's engagement ring as his own way to include her in the celebration. He proposed to Kate on a trip to Kenya after “literally” carrying the ring with him everywhere for three weeks—in his rucksack, of all places—saying he knew he would be “in big trouble” if he lost it. In their first interview after getting engaged, Kate said she hopes she can “look after” the ring properly, to which William responded, “She's going to be in big trouble if she loses it.”

Actor and rapper Nick Cannon gave Mariah Carey a 17-carat engagement ring when he proposed to her in 2008. It cost about $2.5 million. At the time, rumors circulated that Cannon may have used the same ring to propose to a previous girlfriend. Carey did not seem too upset, and the couple still have an encore wedding every year to celebrate their anniversary.

Despite Beyoncé famously singing that "if you like it, then you should put a ring on it," the singer didn't even want an engagement ring. But Jay Z must have wowed her with the sparkler, since although the two wed in a secret ceremony, the first sign of their nuptials was an 18-carat ring the singer sported. Made by jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, the ring is worth an estimated $5 million.

Although Jessica Alba said she didn't want to get married while she was pregnant, she was spotted with a sparkly ring on her left hand. Maybe she said yes because of the ring itself? Cash Warren proposed to her with a 5-carat diamond surrounded by smaller pave-set diamonds. The ring is worth an estimated $100,000.

In 2005, Paris Hilton received a 24-carat canary diamond ring from her then-boyfriend, Paris Latsis. The shipping heir reportedly proposed to Hilton after she returned from a publicity tour in Europe. His family was said to be worth $7.5 billion. The ring was estimated to be worth $4.7 million.

Pop singer Seal chose no ordinary ring when proposing to supermodel Heidi Klum. The 10-carat sparkler is a yellow diamond, set in a gold band of yellow pave diamonds and is worth an estimated $150,000. The diamond must have worked some magic for a while: The couple renewed their vows every year on their anniversary—and in costume too—until their separation in January 2012.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's 2002 engagement captured America's attention, not least because of the 6.1 pink diamond engagement ring Affleck presented Lopez when he proposed. Only years later, after the engagement was officially off, the $1.2 million Harry Winston sparkler known as "The Ring" went back on the market—price upon request. But Lopez's eventual (now ex-husband), Marc Anthony, one-upped Affleck: Anthony proposed to Lopez with an 8.2-carat ring. As for Affleck, he went with a decidedly more low-key 4.5-carat Harry Winston ring when he proposed to Jennifer Garner in 2005, although Garner was spotted in 2009 wearing a 7-carat ring that Affleck gave her as a "thank-you" for relocating to Boston while he shot The Town.

Michael Douglas proposed to Catherine Zeta-Jones with a 10-carat Fred Leighton antique marquise diamond, estimated to be worth $2 million. The ring is unique since it is set horizontally, unlike most marquise diamonds set vertically. Douglas presented Zeta-Jones with the ring on New Year's Eve 1999 in Aspen, and they were married 10 months later at New York City's Plaza Hotel.

Not to use a pun, but Elizabeth Taylor's 30-carat dazzler would later become the gold standard of engagement rings. Richard Burton gave Taylor the ring and she wore the diamond daily even though she and Burton would later divorce—and marry again, only to divorce once more. The engagement ring would go on to inspire another wonderful piece of jewelry, called La Perergrina Pearl, which would later be known as the Taylor-Burton diamond, a 69-carat, pear-shaped stone.
