A police officer in Maryland has been arrested on rape charges after a woman alleged he pulled her over for a traffic stop and attacked her. Officer 1st Class Ryan Macklin, a six-year veteran of the Prince George’s County Police Department, was taken into custody late Monday, authorities said. The woman, who was identified by local outlet News 4 as an undocumented immigrant, alleged that Macklin, who was on duty and in uniform, forced her to perform a “sexual act” in her car, Chief Hank Stawinski told reporters. He stopped short of saying if the alleged victim was an undocumented immigrant but acknowledged that the “Latino community” would be affected by the alleged crime. Stawinski also asked other possible victims to come forward, saying investigators had “come into information which leads us to believe that there may be additional people impacted by this officer’s conduct” and “additional occurrences.”
