Two women are suing Massage Envy after they say they were both sexually assaulted by the same massage therapist in one week, according to WECT. The women claim the second assault occurred after the first victim complained multiple times to management at the Wilmington, North Carolina, franchise. Prosecutors have charged massage therapist Joey Lee Diaz with sexual battery in both cases, which are pending. The company said in a statement that it has “zero tolerance” for sexual misconduct, and that franchisees are required to remove providers “immediately” from the schedule following an allegation. More than 180 women have previously accused therapists of sexually assaulting them at one of Massage Envy’s 1,200 franchises.
