Lawyers for former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe on Tuesday filed a lawsuit on his behalf, alleging the Justice Department has been withholding documents relating to McCabe’s firing this spring. McCabe’s lawyers suspect the documents haven’t been turned over because they could be used against the Justice Department in future lawsuits. Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired McCabe in March after FBI and DOJ officials recommended that his employment be terminated for allegedly lying about his interactions with a journalist. McCabe’s lawyers say they are trying to “vindicate Mr. McCabe’s rights and restore his good name.”
