The debate among candidates to be New York governor would have been interesting if it featured only Carl Paladino, known for his dirty emails and threats to reporters, and the outspoken Andrew Cuomo. But last night Jimmy McMillan got to make his case to voters for his Rent Is Too Damn High Party. On the deficit, McMillan opined, "It's like a cancer. It will heal itself." On gay marriage, he said, "The Rent Is Too Damn High Party feels if you want to marry a shoe, I'll marry you." And he offered this riff: "We plan to bulldoze some of those mountains in upstate to make New York an independent state. I want my own cable company; I want my own telephone company." McMillan wore gloves and a luxurious beard during the debate.
