Donald Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen says his old boss is really not going to appreciate The Apprentice. After viewing the movie—which tells the story of how a young Donald Trump was influenced by Roy Cohn—Cohen praised the biopic as “AMAZING” in a post on X. “Gabe Sherman created a script that accurately depicts the narcissistic sociopathy of @realDonaldTrump,” Cohen wrote. “And, each of the actors portrayed their characters perfectly. Donald is going to hate this!” Cohen, who was the prosecution’s star witness against Trump during his Manhattan hush money trial earlier this year, separately told The Hollywood Reporter that Trump’s reaction to the movie could be driven by reviews. “If the reviews are scathing to him, he will respond to it,” Trump’s former fixer said. “You know, what he doesn’t want to do is fuel the conversation about something that he didn’t want to be released.” Trump’s legal team sent the filmmakers a cease and desist following the movie’s premiere at Cannes, but it is nevertheless set to be released in theaters across the U.S. on Friday.
