Get ready for some smart gaming. At the E3 videogame conference on Monday, Microsoft unveiled its latest Wii U console, known as SmartGlass, which promises to connect Xbox to Windows through a tablet computer or a mobile phone. SmartGlass is designed to allow a tablet to act as a game controller and stream media to a big screen controlled by an Xbox, and Microsoft said the free application works with Windows phones, Windows 8, and other portable devices. Meanwhile at E3, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling said she is working with Sony to create an e-book called The Book of Spells, which will be released through the “Wonderbooks” platform on PlayStation 3.
