‘SNL’ Legend Savages Elon Musk With Brutal New Impression

‘I’M THE PRESIDENT NOW’

Mike Myers took over the role of Trump’s First Buddy from former “SNL” castmate Dana Carvey.

Mike Myers is the latest Saturday Night Live alum to take up the role of DOGE director Elon Musk.

During a cold open largely about President Trump’s contentious Oval Office meeting with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, Myers’ Musk stopped by, with his trusty chainsaw in hand.

“Donald, what are you doing in my office?” Myers’ Musk asked James Austin Johnson’s Trump. “You know I’m the president now, right?”

Musk added, “I’m kidding, I’m kidding… Maybe not.”

Musk clarified that he was making a joke, awkwardly jumping around and yelling as he did it. This prompted Trump to remark, “I’m so comfortable with all of that.”

Trump told Musk that he’s enjoying all the work he’s been doing with DOGE so far.

“They’re saying I’m firing people with no cause,” Musk replied. “But I do have cause. It’s... ’cause I feel like it!” He then awkwardly added, “B---h!”

Musk added, “We’re not going to get it perfect, you know. But we are firing the non-essential employees like air traffic controllers.”

“Yes,” Trump agreed. “And sure, some of the planes are going to land upside down. But then the luggage falls right into your lap and you’re ready to go.”

For the role of Musk, Myers replaced his longtime SNL castmate (and fellow Wayne’s World star) Dana Carvey, who took up the role after Trump won the 2024 election.

The real Musk criticized Carvey’s portrayal of him at the time, complaining on X that, “Dana Carvey just sounds like Dana Carvey.”

Outside of the recent 50th anniversary special, this cold open marks Myers’ first appearance in an SNL sketch since Dec. 5, 2015, when he popped in briefly for Ryan Gosling’s monologue.

The first half of the cold open, meanwhile focused on Vice President JD Vance’s aggressive taunting of Zelensky during their Oval Office meeting. Vance was once again played by Bowen Yang.

“What happened to thank you, OK?” Vance whined to Zelensky. “Remember thank you? You haven’t said thank you to us once the past 15 seconds I’ve been yelling at you.”

“I’ve said thank you,” replied Zelensky (played by Mikey Day).

“But you didn’t say it now when you walked in here,“ said Vance. ”You didn’t say thank you. You didn’t say anything about us being handsome. ‘Where are my handsome little boys?’ You didn’t ask us that once.”
