The Milwaukee Police Department apologized on Wednesday for arresting and tasing Milwaukee Bucks player Sterling Brown. The department said officers “acted inappropriately” and were disciplined. Brown was arrested outside a Walgreens store in January after being suspected of committing a parking violation. “What should have been a simple parking ticket turned into an attempt at police intimidation, followed by unlawful use of physical force, including being handcuffed and tased and then unlawfully booked,” Brown said in a statement. Police body cam footage showed officers telling Brown to take his hands out of his pockets, and then using a taser on Brown. He was never charged with a crime.
