Mitch McConnell Gloats Over SCOTUS Decisions With Gorsuch Pic

Minutes after the Supreme Court upheld Trump’s travel ban and sided with anti-abortion pregnancy clinics Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell tweeted a photo of himself with Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch. Gorsuch’s ascendance to the court would likely have been impossible without McConnell, who cleared the way for the conservative justice by blocking Barack Obama’s pick, Merrick Garland. With Gorsuch on the court, decisions are likely to bend in McConnell’s conservative favor; Tuesday’s Trump v. Hawaii and NIFLA v. Becerra are the first two of what are expected to be many 5-4 decisions.
