Harvey Weinstein, Hollywood’s most powerful studio executive, was questioned by the New York Police Department on Saturday after a 22-year-old Italian model reported that she had been sexually assaulted in his office. The woman told police that Weinstein asked her to come to his office to talk business on Friday and then grabbed her, The Daily Beast confirms. “He asked if her breasts were real before touching them,” a police source told the New York Daily News. “She asked him to stop and he put his hand up her skirt. He asked for a kiss, she responded ‘No.’” The source also said she did not know who he was until Weinstein approached her. A source close to Weinstein, however, told the Daily News that they believe this is a “blackmail attempt, and he did nothing wrong.” “We are cooperating fully with the authorities and are confident that we will be fully vindicated. We will have no further comment,” said a spokesman for Weinstein.
DNA Info reports the model is an “acquaintance” of Silvo Berlusconi, the former Italian prime minister who was forced out of office for allegedly having sex with underage prostitutes. Weinstein has hired a lawyer and the Manhattan district attorney said he will decide whether or not to file charges.
