Molly Ringwald revealed the unconventional spot where her actress daughter Mathilda Gianopoulos was conceived two decades ago. “I believe that Mathilda was conceived in the dressing room at Studio 54 right at the end of my run playing Sally Bowles in Cabaret in 2003,” the Breakfast Club icon told The Times of London. “It’s so Mathilda to be conceived in such an iconic place.” Ringwald, 56, went on to say, “I always knew I wanted to have children but it took me a while—I was 36 when she was born. At that age the biological clock is a real thing and it had kind of become deafening.” Gianopoulos, 20, is following in her mother’s footsteps and is about to appear in the film The Idea of You in a supporting role. “It’s a hard job and I think she knows what she’s in for,” the Pretty in Pink star, who also has two 14-year-old twins, said of her firstborn.
