It was quite a consolation prize for star pitcher Mo'ne Davis, who gave up three runs and six hits in two and one-third innings before leaving the game Wednesday night so she is able to pitch again on Saturday. The team lost but Sports Illustrated revealed that Davis, age 13, is to be the latest athlete on its cover. Splashed across a photo of her mid-pitch is the title "Mo'ne: Remember Her Name (As If We Could Ever Forget)." It tells of her exploits not just in baseball, but also her first love which is basketball, as well as soccer. Included in the story is the tale of her local Taney Little League in Philadelphia, which for decades has been co-ed, and was once recognized by the National Organization of Women.
