House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has reportedly taken away U.S. Capitol office space given to Vice President Mike Pence by the Republican majority during the previous Congress, NPR reports. A placard above the door identifying Pence's office space was taken down in recent weeks, and a House Democratic aide confirmed that the space was given another purpose. “Room assignments are reviewed and changed at the beginning of every Congress,” they said. The space was reportedly given to Pence after Trump was inaugurated in 2017, though the office was a “symbolic gesture” that was rarely used by Pence. Even though Pelosi took Pence's office away, she is reportedly giving the White House legislative affairs team a space of their own in the Capitol that they did not have before.
