The Curiosity rover is on its way to Mars. NASA launched the 1-ton, nuclear powered rover—the largest ever built—from Cape Canaveral, Fla., this morning. The mobile laboratory, equipped with a jackhammer and laser cameras, will search for evidence that Mars may once have been suitable for life. It will take 8½ months to arrive.
