The lunar-grown produce fad is coming. NASA will take its green thumb to space with plans to send plant seedlings to the moon by 2015 in order to begin testing whether the terrain could support long-term human inhabitants. Seeds of basil, turnips, and Arabidopsis—a plant in the cabbage and mustard family—will be sent via the first Moon Express lander, and will act as "canary in a coal mine," NASA says.
