Seattle police on Thursday published photos of the shotgun that Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain used to kill himself in 1994. The images, posted on the police department’s website, show cold-case Det. Mike Ciesynski holding the shotgun at different angles. Police said the photos were actually taken last June, but were just added to the city of Seattle’s computer system this month. It’s unclear why authorities took the photos or why they posted them online. Cobain’s death was ruled a suicide after his body was found at his Seattle home on April 8, 1994.
