More than three weeks after Jerry Sandusky was convicted of 45 counts of child sex abuse, three men have told police they were molested by the former Penn State coach in the 1970s and 1980s, the Patriot-News has reported. The new accusations are the first alleging abuse before the 1990s and therefore challenge the defense’s argument that Sandusky isn’t a pedophile because pedophiles usually exhibit predatory sexual behaviors earlier in life, whereas Sandusky was in his 50s when he molested the victims whose cases were considered in trial. It’s not yet clear whether the new accusers were taken into account in the damning Freeh Report or whether fresh charges will be filed. Sandusky is scheduled to be sentenced in September and faces life in prison.
