The New York Knicks have reportedly agreed to trade 23-year-old Latvian Kristaps Porzingis to the Dallas Mavericks. According to ESPN, the Knicks will get Dallas players Dennis Smith Jr, DeAndre Jordan, Wesley Matthews, and a future first-round draft pick in exchange for giving up Porzingis—who has been out for over almost a year due to a torn ACL. In the trade, ESPN reported the Mavericks will also receive Knicks players Tim Hardaway Jr. and Courtney Lee. Before his injury, Porzingis was reportedly averaging 22.3 points per game and was voted an NBA All-Star. Porzingis, who is over 7-feet tall, has reportedly been “unhappy” with Knicks’ management for “some time” and it was “understood” on Thursday that he no longer wanted to play for the team.
