Sometimes, a picture is worth a thousand pundits. And next week’s New Yorker cover—which depicts Obama’s performance at Wednesday’s debate—is a fine illustration of just that point. The cover, called “One on One,” and illustrated by Barry Blitt, depicts Romney gesturing presidentially next to an vacant podium. And the kicker? Behind that podium is that famed empty chair. “This image seemed like a proper response to the first Presidential debate,” says Blitt, “but I’m not sure I realized how hard it is to caricature furniture.”
