Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick is the face of Nike’s new “Just Do It” campaign, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The ad campaign, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, features a portrait of the former San Francisco 49ers player and the quote: “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.” Kaepernick has been signed with Nike since 2011, but hasn’t been signed with a team since 2016, when he started kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality and racial inequality. His case alleging that NFL owners colluded to keep him out of the league was recently allowed to move forward.
