Grammy-nominated rapper Nipsey Hussle died from “gunshot wounds” to “the head and torso,” the Los Angeles Medical Examiner announced Monday. The 33-year-old rapper, whose real name is Ermias Joseph Asghedom, was reportedly shot dead outside of his clothing store in Los Angeles—where he was to meet with the Los Angeles Police Department about preventing gang violence. Asghedom’s death was ruled a homicide. Just before he was killed, the artist tweeted, “Having strong enemies is a blessing.’’ Celebrities mourned the rapper’s death, including singer John Legend. “He was so gifted, so proud of his home, so invested in his community,” Legend wrote. “Utterly stunned that he’s gone so soon.”
