The notoriously stringent International Olympic Committee has put the kibosh on some Olympians' plans to honor Sarah Burke, a Canadian skier who passed away in 2012 in an accident on the slopes. Australian snowboarder Torah Bright planned to wear stickers on her helmet and snowboard as a tribute to Burke, but the IOC said it would violate the laws against any "form of publicity or propaganda, commercial or otherwise." A disappointed Bright shared the news on Facebook and Instagram, writing that the IOC has deemed her stickers a “a political statement."
