New York’s Putnam County shelved a $500,000 donation by former Fox News chief Roger Ailes after he allegedly insisted on running a senior center without being responsible for the work done on it by his hand-picked no-bid contractors. Additionally, a local Tax Watch investigation revealed that county officials wanted to keep the deal secret ahead of a vote on the Cold Spring-based project. Many residents objected to Ailes’s name being placed on the facility citing the recent lawsuit by former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson in which she alleged he frequently and persistently sexually harassed before firing her from the cable channel. “He’s a bully and morally bankrupt sexual predator,” said one resident.
